Thursdays with Natalie

Our Thursdays are a little different this year.  We spend the morning getting ready for school, eating breakfast and running out the door.  The "Bigs" have to get to school by 9:15-so, we drop the girls off first, then drop Bubby off at his school.

Then, it's just me and Natalie.  She has physical therapy every other Thursday, but when she doesn't have therapy, it's just us!  It's never just been the two of us.  With having a 7 year old and a 3 year old, now a 17 month old, activities vary with each child.  So, today, the weather was gorgeous (Gracie's words) and I needed to complete another 15 minutes of cardio (don't ask), so I thought we would head to the park.  I walked 2 miles and then we played.  Since she's not walking, the swing is her choice of play.  There was a preschool playing at the park, so we were limited on what we could play with.  But we had fun and here she is exploring some other toys!

I definitely enjoy my mornings with her and all the babbling and singing we do together, but I can't lie, I do miss the "Bigs"!  Oh, and I feel like I'm missing a few kids and I'm constantly looking around my feet to see who is missing......here's to our Thursdays, Miss Natalie.

Royal's Game

For Kyle's birthday, he wanted to see a Royal's game.  I must admit that I'm a little sad that we don't head out to the stadium more often.  I grew up going to the games with my family and will always be a memory I will cherish.

This year, the Royal's are doing awesome (although, they just scored 3 runs as I'm typing this) and hopefully, we will see them in the playoffs this year.  This wife can only HOPE and PRAY, as we are a house divided.  I guess I can't complain too much, the Hubs did grow up in St. Louis, after all  :)

We decided to make an evening for Kyle's birthday and began by tailgating.  My sister has more pictures than me, but I will share what I do have.  Hey-I was in charge of the food-I was doing good just getting us to the stadium in clothes with food in hand!

I must say, my little Natalie, LOVES her Royal's.  She will sit on the couch with me, clapping and cheering on her "Boys in Blue" with the one-arm cheer.  She was no different at the game.  She enjoyed the people, music, candy and the BOYS!

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Kyle!  We love you so much!  Grandpa Sevedge would be proud of the boy you are becoming and that you are a Royal's fan! <ssssshhhhhh...don't tell Dad>

There are NO words-poor Kyle

Happy 16 Months

Natalie turned 16 months a few weeks ago and I never officially wished her a Happy 16 MONTHS old birthday!

Natalie is changing quickly and it's fun to see her little personality develop.  She is starting to state her opinions and likes to sprinkle a bit of drama into her fits.

We've officially been in physical therapy a month and I have to almost, almost eat my words.  You see, when Kianna was this age, we were in the thick of trying to discover what could possibly be wrong with her, medically.  I vowed to never step foot in Children's Mercy again and here I am......

I must say as a parent it's never easy to watch your child struggle, but reaching these milestones are priceless.  Natalie's therapist is encouraging to Natalie and me.  She is impressed with Natalie's progress, yet reassures me that Natalie will walk one day and it's not something I did "wrong".  As we know, people like to share their opinions and sometimes it's difficult to remain calm and not worry.

However, Natalie is picking up her feet and beginning the early stages of cruising!!  With the beginning stages of walking, she is starting to talk more.  She loves saying the words"up" and "yes"!  We also went to the eye doctor last week and glasses are most likely in her future.  She has the same issue that Kyle and me share!  :)

Until next time, here is a picture of my princess!
