Bal-la-lay.....and a little Tap

So, I have to admit that when I found out at 22 weeks, I was having a little girl, I panicked for a moment.  Let's be honest, when I found out Kyle was a boy, I panicked.  Raising my boy is so much easier than raising girls, and yes, I can say that!  At that moment, I wondered what path Kia's little life would take.  I love to be active and sports was and IS huge in my/our lives. Let's be honest-I am NOT a dancer!  Give me a volleyball, bat and glove and my heart is content!

Fast forward a few years and I begin working with a dancer!!  Miss Rachel is super cool and Kia adores her, ok, and I think she adores Kia (and Gracie) as well!  Since we work together, workout together, walk together and even play together, I hear a lot of dance stories.  Oh, and I am sometimes a listening ear for those teary-coach moments.  But Miss Rachel has taught the girls a few dance tricks and they've caught on quite well.  So, needless to say, Miss Rachel-we took the plunge, we are giving dance a whirl and we will continue to watch where her little path takes her.

To YOU, Miss Rachel!  (Now, go open your studio)

My 3 year old

Kianna is getting so big.  As I've said before, it's fun watching her grow and while she's independent, she is a lover and can be somewhat shy, depending on who she is around.  Her Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Greene offers classes for children through Community Ed. through the district. This year, she is finally old enough to attend one of her classes.  We signed her up for the Dora and Diego class.  She went everyday for one week.  This was good practice for preschool.  She was super excited for school each day!  Good news-Mrs. Greene will be her teacher the next 2 years!  Here is a picture of her with Mrs. Greene on the last day of class!

We enjoy going to World's of Fun and have been going for a few years.  Last year, Kianna wasn't interested in hugging, giving high-fives or even looking at Snoopy and his crew.  This year, she's giving hugs!

And posing for pictures!  My girl is growing up!!

Another Milestone

Kyle has been complaining about his molars hurting when I brush his teeth.  We've even had to resort to Ibuprofen a few times because his molars hurt as they were popping through.  We've definitely padded Dr. Gerry's retirement account and he had told us that once the molars pop through, he will begin losing teeth.  Sure enough, I noticed his gums turning white and then about a week later, the tooth had popped through.  It was very interesting because the tooth was there, but his tooth wasn't loose.  Then, it was loose for about 2 days and tonight my prerequisite as a teacher came into play-I.GOT.TO.PULL.OUT.HIS.TOOTH!!  (I didn't break the news that this isn't my first tooth pulling experience).

We took pictures, hid his tooth in a plastic baggie.  He doesn't want the tooth fairy to keep his tooth.  Now, the fun part....we wait and see what she leaves for him!  :)

Please ignore his eyes!  This was probably our 9th attempt at a picture.

The kids have an appointment with Dr. Gerry on Thursday.  We are praying his adult teeth come in with enamel.  Because he was on tons of antibiotics his first year of life-they think the medicine affected his baby teeth and many of his teeth are stained and don't have enamel on them.  We've been praying for 5 years that his adult teeth will be normal and we can rest easy every 6 months.  If not, we will tackle the issues as they come!  :)
