Guest Blogger-Kyle's Version of Family Day

It was a fun day at Schliterbahn.  First we went to Henry\s Hideout. Then we went to Kinder-Haven.   After that we went to a lazy river which was no lazy river. In fact it sent BIG waves that made Kianna         scream her head off. But the time that she rode in the tube that I'll get started on now she was fine.As I was saying I did bcuse of what I heard come out of my mom's mouth: if you ride it as a family you will get a ICEE or ice cream. So I did it. And bcuse we rode together I got an ICEE i got a .............SOVINER CUP.(i admit it-Kianna got one to.) And that is the end so bye-bye.

Family Day

We had a great Family Day yesterday!  I'm going back to school full-time and we decided before life gets crazy, the family needed a day together.  Kyle won a free pass to Schlitterbahn for reading a certain amount of minutes.  That's all John needed to ride the new ride, Verrukt.  Needless to say, the reservations were sold out for the day, but they are doing stand-by riders throughout the day.  So, John waited 3 hours for the ride while the kids and I played, ate lunch and attempted a lazy river.  But-

Not just any lazy river!!  I think I've scarred Kianna for life!  This lazy river sends out waves and powerful waves!  At Oceans of Fun, we just walk the lazy river and that's what we decided to do this time.  BIG mistake!!  I had Natalie in my left arm and I'm dragging Kia and Kyle with my other arm, while waves are taking Kia and Natalie under!  Now, we are talking about Schlittebahn-this river isn't short!!  By the time we were finished, my arms were cramping and I had 2 girls in tears.  I was almost there myself!

Anyway, when John met up with us, Kyle and I attempted the Torrent River again.  We used a tube this time and had the BEST time.  I came back and got he family and we experienced it as a family.  I can proudly say, Natalie fell asleep and Kianna begged to ride it over and over!  It's definitely my favorite ride!  I'm very sore, sunburned and felt like I was riding waves all night, but soooo worth it!

And last, but not least-this is a glimpse  of what we look like-I promise we reapplied sunscreen!  :(

Kianna's Frozen Performance

Kianna and Gracie took a dance class this summer at Studio 10.  I've heard nothing, but great things about this studio and to say John and I were pleased is an understatement!  Her teacher and owner is amazing!

Anyway, each week, we'd ask the girls what they learned at dance class and they couldn't tell us-a teacher's nightmare!  Anyway, on "Parent Watch" night, we were pleasantly surprised that the girls could actually dance a jig!

A few nights later, we were back for the final performance, with all the proceeds going towards breast cancer-the studio knows how to put on a good show.  The best part, Miss Rachel was there to support our girls-couldn't ask for a more supportive friend!  We still aren't sure if we will continue dance or take a break for now.

Summer Fun

Meghan and Nerned, does this title ring a bell?  It just rolled off my tongue!

One of the perks of being a teacher is being off during the summer, but we work our tails off 10 months out of the year, so I will never apologize for being off during this time.  In between vacations, planning for VBS and applying for my Ed. Specialist degree, we've gone to a few MOMs club events, been sick, gone to the free summer movies and have enjoyed a LOT of park time and riding bikes.

I can remember as a kid always being on my bike.  We lived close to Meadowbrook Elementary, so we rode our bikes there, to Meadowbrook park and rode all over the neighborhood.  As I've sat down to reminisce about my childhood and how times have changed, I'm not sure I will ever trust my kids to go on long bike rides, so I'm trying to find ways they can go and ride their bikes and I still be comfortable.  Our driveway isn't conducive to bike riding, so we head up to Clardy and let them ride away in the parking lot!

I don't know how many days left before school starts and I refuse to look at a calendar, so in the meantime, CHEERS to summer!!!

World's of Fun

The weather has been beautiful this year, so we've headed out to World's of Fun and Ocean's of Fun (although, I hide my phone at OOF, so I don't have any pictures) several times.  We love that we can go for a few hours, leave and not worry about any money that we've wasted.  The kids are sure getting brave and love to try new rides.  Kianna is definitely my thrill seeker, but Kyle is slowly behind her.  Poor Natalie can't ride many rides yet because she's not walking, but sometimes a nice worker will let her on a few rides.  Here we are enjoying World's of Fun!

Next time we head to Ocean's of Fun, I will take a few pictures!  :)

Happy Father's Day

Since we were on our trip to Arkansas on Father's Day, we celebrated Father's Day on Friday night with "pizza Friday" and his gift.  We originally were supposed to head to John's family reunion, but with a sick Mom and Mother-in-Law, we decided to hold off this year and definitely head to see the family next year.  Anyway, as many of you know, my sister was blessed with all the creative juices my parents had to offer and I got ZILCH, so I was pretty proud of myself when I came up with this Father's Day idea all by myself!  We were a little behind when my mom landed herself in the ICU, but nonetheless, the end project turned out well.  Here are the kids working on their letter and then the end picture that we gave Daddy in a cute "DAD" picture frame.  Here's to my hubs of 11 1/2 years, Happy Father's Day a few weeks late!!  We love you!

Sevedge Family Vacation

I was a horrible Mommy and only took ONE picture while we were in Arkansas, so I had to wait until my sister posted about our vacation on her blog.  I really have nothing to add, other than, Arkansas exceeded my expectations and it was a super fun trip.  We are so grateful for our Aunt Diane and Uncle Emilio for giving us their timeshare points.  We are researching where we'd like to go next year and will hopefully be making our reservations soon!  In the meantime, you can read about our Arkansas Adventure at my sister's blog, found here.
