Adventure Day

We had a super fun day!  The weather is frightful, so we took our fun inside with Renee and Irelyn.  We spent part of the morning at Chuck E. Cheese and then ate lunch at Jason's Deli.  Afterwards, the girls walked upstairs-Kianna fell asleep first!  I guess I did my job and wore them out.  We are looking forward to our next adventure with the girls-we still have tokens to spend!

Snow Day

Well, we've had very little snow this year, so the snow we have received, we take FULL advantage of playing and throwing in the snow!  Oh yes, and all the kids love to EAT the snow!  I let the girls go out and play in the snow this morning until Gracie's hands got too cold and Kianna "pottied her pants".  When I asked her why she didn't come in and tell me that she had to go potty, she responded, "Well, you know, sometimes it just comes out".  I can't argue with that, so because all her gear went into the washing machine and potty was in her boots, she was done for the day!  Natalie and I enjoyed the snow from the inside.  Besides, I had carpets to clean!  :)

As you can see, they played in the front for a little bit and then decided to play in the treehouse out back.

Oh, and for the record, I am a slightly changed woman-since our district doesn't build in snow days and our summer is shorter-I really prefer NO snow days!  I miss my snow days and anxiously waiting for them, but the POOL is so much nicer in the summer on my time!

Gymnastics

Kianna (and Gracie) have been going to gymnastics together since September and quickly moved out of the 3 year old class and went into the Rocket Tots class.  The other night, her coach recommended Kianna be moved to the Level I class, even though she would be the youngest.  I had debated on moving her up because of some issues that I couldn't let go of (my teacher, classroom management, red flags, etc.).  Needless to say, moving her up will hopefully prove to be beneficial for a number of reasons.  Only time will tell, but John and I hope it helps her to build her confidence in social settings.    Needless to say, she gets her gymnastic abilities from her Aunt Nerned!  My sister took all those skills from my parents, but I'm glad she passed a few on to Kia!  :)

Family Day

We were finally able to have a Family Day on President's Day!  Daddy wasn't working and no one was sick, so we took advantage of the day!  We started out the day at one of our favorite restaurants, Kate's Kitchen.  My mom, my sister and Gracie ate there the day before, so the staff was happy to see us the next day!  

Next, we went back down to Crown Center and went to the free Fairy Tale exhibit!  My MOMs club went on one of my working days and everyone has been raving about this exhibit, so it was definitely on our list of things to do.  I HIGHLY recommend going to see it-the artists did a fabulous job!  You can see (other than clingy Natalie) my kids enjoyed their time!

We are looking forward to another "Family Day" soon!  

P.S.  Ignore Kianna's hair-we are in the thick of winter and she struggles with headaches this time of year!

Kyle and Mommy

Last weekend, Kyle and I got to enjoy a day at one of our favorite spots in Kansas City.  Kyle really enjoys going to the Coterie Theatre.  I can remember my sister and I going with the Cleary's as kids, so it's fun to now take my kids.

Kyle's teacher let him read the book, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane when we found out that it would appear at the Coterie.  Since the girls and Daddy weren't interested in going, Kyle and I made a date out of the day!

We ended up getting out of church late and Daddy wasn't home from work, so we just ventured down to Crown Center for lunch, instead of trying a new restaurant by home.  He wanted Chinese food and I opted for a salad at the Mexican restaurant.  Unlike the other shows we've attended, this show wasn't packed!  We sat in the very front row and had a great view!

Unfortunately, I'm a bad teacher and bad mommy because I haven't read the book.  I do enjoy the author, but I haven't taken the time to read this book (after I graduate, I promise).  So, I would periodically ask Kyle through the show if something was similar to the book....and he would respond, "SSSHHHHH, it's rude to talk during a show".  Well, at least I taught my boy something!  :)

We had so much fun and I'm looking forward to more one-on-one dates with my boy!

Royals Fanfest

My little munchkins sure have turned into some faithful Royals fans!  Kianna is still upset by the San Francisco Giants win in Blue October.  Kyle is an all-inclusive sports fan!  He supports our house-divided by rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals with Daddy.  He knows that since he lives in Kansas City, only Royals attire will be worn!  :)  Nonetheless, we were able to have some fun last Saturday at Bartle Hall celebrating and rooting on our Royals. It was super busy, but we found a little space for fun.

And yes, the last picture is my absolute favorite!!  For all my friends that know me, my heart was pounding!!  When Kyle asked me what my favorite part of our day was, I'm sure you know my response.  Kyle then said, "I knew it"!
